CUNA Marketing & BD Council Announces Diamond Award Winners

ANAHEIM, Calif.-Several credit union executives and individual credit unions were presented with awards and honors during the annual meeting of the CUNA Marketing & Business Development Council.

The winners included:

* Lesley Carrell, SVP-marketing with Fibre FCU in Longview, Wash. who was named a 2013 Hall of Fame inductee. Carrell was a founding member of the CMBDC.

* Lisa Nicholas, VP-Marketing for Amplify FCU in Austin, Texas, who won the Marketing Professional of the Year Award. In 2012, her marketing efforts exceeded every goal set forth in the Amplify FCU's business plan, including generating $81 million in loan growth.

* Andy Reed, manager-business development for American Airlines FCU in Fort Worth, Texas, who was presented with the Business Development Professional of the Year Award. Reed has helped AAFCU grow to more than 239,000 members, and will be a presenter at Credit Union Journal's Grow Show.

* The Diamond Best of Show Award went to three videos that were part of a brand awareness campaign (Don't Feed the Goat, No Dead Leaves, Terms and Conditions) by First Entertainment FCU, Hollywood, Calif. Working with Warner Bros. Studios, its original sponsor group, FEFCU made arrangements to show the commercials. The ads featured actor Curtis Armstrong, who is a member. FEFCU VP-Marketing Roy MacKinnon will be a speaker at Credit Union Journal's Grow Show.

* "Color" Award for Brilliant Use of Art: to Operating Engineers FCU, Livermore, Calif.

* Best Use of Humor: to First Entertainment FCU, Hollywood, Calif. (see above).

* Greatest Impact: to Woodstone CU, Federal Way, Wash.

* Most Edgy: to University of Kentucky FCU, Lexington.

* Most Sentimental: to Travis CU, Vacaville, Calif.
