LOS ANGELES - CUs have been lauding the fact that many other mortgage lenders have been backing away from the market, leaving the field open–but it turns out they’re not the only ones who noticed that open field.
The Wealthbridge Network, founded by insurance agents, works with “only the finest, highest quality, financially stable mortgage originators in the United States,” the organization said.
A borrower contacts his or her local insurance agent and the agent refers the case to Wealthbridge, which in turn contacts the borrower and begins the loan process.
Wealthbridge said it expects to have great success attracting business through insurance agents because consumers typically have five, 10, 20 or more years of doing business with those agents and have developed a strong level of trust with them, noting “Studies have shown the public is very comfortable dealing with their insurance agent and through this referral process the anxiety of shopping for a home loan is reduced or removed completely.”(c) 2008 The Credit Union Journal and SourceMedia, Inc.
