CHARLOTTE, N.C.-For the second week in a row, credit unions were representated at a political convention, this time the Democratic National Convention here.

As was the case the previous week in Tampa with the Republican meeting, credit unions backed a "leave behind" project, in this case a $300,000 renovation of the rooftop playground at Levine Children's Hospital. The renovation tranformed the existing space into a respite space for patients and their families.
CUNA, CUNA Mutual, CO-OP Financial Services and the North Carolina and South Carolina leagues helped to raise much of the money used for the project.
CUNA also hosted other events during the convention for delegates and elected officials.
