Danahey Named CEO of St. Anne's; First Female Chief Executive at CU

FALL RIVER, Mass. -- St. Anne's Credit Union said its board appointed Eileen M. Danahey as its new president and chief executive officer, making her the first woman to hold these titles at the $864 million institution.

Danahey succeeds Ross R. Upton who retired recently after serving the credit union for 22 years, the last eight as president and CEO.

Prior to joining St. Anne's, Danahey served as chief operating officer and chief financial officer of the $1.4 billion Metro Credit Union in Chelsea, Mass.

William R. Bouchard, St. Anne's chairman of the board, said in a statement that Danahey has a "track record of strong leadership. Her past responsibilities working for other financial institutions will weave perfectly with the history of St. Anne's and our commitment to the communities and people that we serve."

A certified public accountant, Danahey obtained her BS in accounting from Providence College, Providence, R.I., and earned her MBA at Boston College.

"I am honored to have been appointed as the president and CEO of this leading community financial institution that has provided superior service and support to our communities for 80 years," said Danahey.
