DENTON, Texas — DATCU Credit Union on Monday said it paid a bonus dividend of $1,768,059 to its member owners on Jan. 1 — the largest such payout in its history.
It is the sixth consecutive year DATCU has paid a bonus dividend to its members. In the last six years, DATCU has distributed more than $4.7 million.
The $744 million CU's board approved the one-time payout at its Dec. 16 meeting. The dividend of 0.30% was paid based upon a member's annual average of all balances.
"We are very proud that it has been another strong and steady year here at DATCU," CEO Dale Kimble said in a prepared statement. "Our members are loyal and it is truly an honor to show our appreciation by giving back to them."
DATCU CU was founded in 1936 and it now serves almost 80,000 members. Membership is open to anyone living or working in Denton, Cooke, Wise, Montague or Clay counties.
