DAYTON, Ohio – Dayton Firefighters Federal Credit Union and Dayton Habitat for Humanity have received a $100,000 grant from the Federal Home Loan Bank.
The funds will be used to help build 10 new houses. Firefighters who are members of the credit union, along with representatives of the FHLB of Cincinnati and other volunteers have been working to build the homes. In 2008 the credit union and Habitat used a $66,000 grant to also build homes for those who can’t afford them.
The $49-million Dayton Fire Fighters CU is providing counseling to new homeowners to help them stay current in their mortgages.
