Desert Schools Taps Into Sports Fans To Reach New Members

PHOENIX — Desert Schools FCU is tapping into Americans' love of sports as a way get its name in front of potential new members while also collecting information about how to reach them.

The $3.4 billion CU's marketing campaign, "DS Live Ultimate Pre-Game Experience," gives visitors a unique tailgating experience and access to customized memorabilia in exchange for their phone number and e-mail address.

The credit union has a custom wrapped FJ Cruiser equipped with a t-shirt cannon and a customizable photo booth that it is taking to a variety of events in Phoenix, including Phoenix Coyotes, Arizona Cardinals and Phoenix Suns games.

Visitors can take photos of themselves alongside life-like slides of Arizona sports stars and can also enter to win limited edition prizes.
