MARLBOROUGH, Mass. – Digital FCU has rolled out Mobile PC Deposit, an application that allows qualifying members to deposit a check using multiple smartphone platforms, including Apple's iPhone and Google's Android phone.
The applications are available as free downloads on the App Store and Google's Android market. The applications make use of a phone's built-in camera to acquire the image of the check (front and back), and image pre-processing and validation takes place on the device. Checks are processed electronically end-to-end through Vertifi, and deposits are posted to members' accounts in real time with immediate access to check images. Checks submitted and approved for deposit before the end of the credit union’s business day will be deposited to a member's account on the same day.
Additional enhancements to DCU's suite of mobile banking scheduled to be released this year include a new version of Mobile PC Branch, which will run on the industry's mobile banking technology platform and allow members to conduct virtually any type of banking transaction from their phones.
The applications were designed in conjunction with EasCorp FCU’s wholly owned Vertifi Software LLC CUSO.
