The Distinguished Service Award winners for the 52nd Annual Defense Credit Union Conference have been named.
The awards are decided by their respective service branches and will be recognized at the conference luncheon on Aug. 18; the awards will be presented by deputy assistant secretaries for each service.
FirstLight Federal Credit Union's branch in Fort Bliss, Texas, has been recognized by the Department of the Army for sponsoring more than 100 events at the fort and its surrounding community on an annual basis, including over 50 financial education classes for military members and their families. The $878.2 million CU is based in El Paso.
The Department of the Navy honored Navy Federal Credit Union's branch at Naval Station in Mayport, Fla. The $70 billion, Vienna, Va.-based institution won the distinguished service award for the $1 billion and above category.
Pacific Marine Credit Union's location in Camp Pendleton, Calif., won the Navy's award for CUs below $1 billion in assets. The $713.6 asset institution is headquartered in Oceanside, Calif.
The Department of the Air Force granted Great Falls, Mont.-based 1st Liberty Federal Credit Union's branch at Malmstrom Air Force Base in Montana its $1 billion and under award. The institution has $165.3 million in assets.
And Service Credit Union's location at Ramstein Air Force Base in Germany won the over $1 billion-asset distinguished service award. The $2.7 billion-asset CU is based in Portsmouth, N.H.
