Dow Chemical Pays Out $4.6M

Dow Chemical Employees Credit Union said it paid members a total payout of $4.6 million for 2005, comprised of interest rebates, saver and check card incentives.

The $950-million credit union, one of the few still paying interest rebates, returned more than $3 million in interest rebates of 15% for 2005, up from the 12.5% rebates paid for 2004. Members in good standing also received a 10% "member saver reward," which totaled $1.5 million for 2005. And Visa check card holders shared an additional $86,000 based on their transaction amounts.

Dow Chemical Employees had paid an interest rebate for 49 of the past 50 years.
