Elderly Mother, Daughter Charged In Heists

TUCSON, Ariz. – A 71-year-old woman and her daughter were arrested Friday on suspicion of robbing Tucson FCU and a local bank last summer.

Police said the elderly woman, Evelyn Ward, went into the branches on both occasions and her daughter, Bonnie Jasmer, 47, drove the getaway car.

The two were booked into the Pima County jail on charges of armed robbery for the July robbery at Bank of the West and the August holdup at the credit union.
