LUBBOCK, Texas – A former employee at West Tex FCU on Tuesday was indicted for the theft of as much as $500,000 from the credit union.
Armelinda Castillo, 27, who also goes by Irma, was a former assistant accountant at the credit union’s branch.
Castillo allegedly stole the money over a three-year period before her actions were discovered.
Credit union officials say they alerted authorities as soon as they were aware it was happening.
