FBI Nabs Hospital-Branch Robbers

MIAMI The FBI said it arrested two of the three armed suspects who assaulted the Jetstream FCU branch at Mercy Hospital here early last Thursday morning disguised in green hospital scrubs and plastic hairnets.

Surveillance video taped at the hospital’s second-story branch showed two disguised men entering the branch at 7:10 and demanding money from the teller. Three employees were kicked and sprayed with an aerosol irritant during the hold-up and threatened with a gun. They were all treated at the hospital.

The men escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash.

On Friday the FBI arrested Garriet Hicks, 38, and Alfred Walker, 23 in connection with the heist. A third suspect, Tavarius Smith is still being sought. Both Hicks and Walker made their initial appearances in federal court this morning.
