ALEXANDRIA, Va. – NCUA on Monday said Lara Rodriguez, a counsel with the special issues unit of the FDIC, has been hired as Deputy General Counsel, the second highest position in the agency’s Office of General Counsel.
Rodriguez will succeed Mike McKenna, who was promoted to General Counsel this summer. She will manage the day-to-day operations of the Office of General Counsel and oversee the three divisions within the office, while serving as the agency’s chief freedom of information officer.
Before joining the FDIC, Rodriguez was a partner at Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP, where she practiced structured finance law from 1998 to 2010.
