The credit union’s Champion Program will provide special savings and checking accounts that offer favorable interest rates, free check orders, free ATM transactions and a wide range of additional benefits to teachers, police, firefighters or emergency medical workers.

Account benefits will include no minimum balance requirements; free non-First Citizens' ATM transactions; free check order; monthly and bonus dividends based on minimum balances; CD rate bonuses; free Bill Pay online banking, eStatements and eBills; and free special-image VISA CheckCards that reflect each profession.

As part of the new program, the $475 million credit union is establishing the Family Champion Scholarship Fund. For each new Champion checking account opened by a credit union member, First Citizens' will deposit $10 to benefit the children of Champion account members. First Citizens' also will deposit $10 into the scholarship fund for each new automobile, mortgage or home equity loan for Champion checking account holders.
