First Citizens FCUs Hero Program Aids Local Veterans Groups

FAIRHAVEN, Mass. – Local and national veterans’ organizations have received more than $45,000 in donations from First Citizens' FCU’s Hero Program, which assists veterans’ aid organizations.

The Hero Account program give advantageous checking and savings rates, discounted personal, auto and home equity loan rates and reduced closing fees on mortgages to any person currently serving or having served in any branch of the military.

The credit union pledged to donate $50 to approved veterans' organizations having a 501(c)3 designation for each new account opened. Among the beneficiaries are the Falmouth Military Support Group, Middleborough Veteran Outreach Center, Taunton's Home for Our Troops and the National Military Family Association.
