MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. First Tech CU, the credit union for Microsoft Corp., said this afternoon it has introduced a new Windows Phone mobile banking application, the first credit union in the U.S. to introduce a native Windows Phone mobile banking app complete with integrated mobile deposit and bill pay functionality.
First Tech members can now bank from their Windows Phone, iPhone or Android smart phone anytime, anywhere.
First Tech will launch its new Windows phone app on-site at the main Microsoft campus in Redmond, Wash. Tuesday, giving employees of Microsoft an in-depth look at this new platform. Microsoft employees and First Tech members will be able to view the app on a giant Microtile phone display, chat with First Tech App experts and personalize their Windows Phone at a laser engraving station.
“As Microsoft’s credit union, it’s very important for us to serve our members and demonstrate our support of the Windows 8 mobile platform,” said Greg Mitchell, president of the $5.6 billion credit union. “We’re proud to be the first credit union in the country to offer a native mobile app for smart phones powered by Microsoft. This addition to the First Tech suite of products is yet another step in our plan to provide members with state-of-the-art products and services and the ability to transact anytime and at any place of their choosing.”
