Schwartz, 59, of Glen Ullin, N.D., in October pleaded guilty to embezzlement and misapplication from a credit union. According to the court, Schwartz began taking money from what was then Glen Ullin Credit Union in 1987 and continued to do so through 2011 by transferring money from member accounts to her own accounts, and then by keeping two sets for records to hide the theft. Schwarz said she paid back some of the money over that time.

Schwartz has been ordered to serve three years of supervised release. In addition, she was ordered her to sell two homes she owns to pay more than $130,000 in forfeiture, which was separate from the more than $130,000 in restitution.
