Four Families Compete In Summit CU’s $10,000 ‘Project Money’ Savings Contest

MADISON, Wis. – Four local families were chosen from 121 applicants to participate in Summit CU’s version of a savings contest, a seven-month “Project Money” that will award the winners $10,000.

Throughout the program each of the participants will meet regularly with a Summit Financial Coach, who will provide them with the plans, tools and advice they need to accomplish their financial goals.

Their ongoing progress and unique stories will be featured at: www.summitcreditunion.com/projectmoney, a new website that has been developed specifically for this year’s competition. The site will feature videos, weekly blogs and up-to-the-minute Twitter feeds from each of the participants, serving as a learning tool for the entire community. Also new to the competition this year is a Project Money Facebook page (www.Facebook.com/SummitDoMore) where people can ”like” the page to receive tips and team updates.

WKOW-TV news anchor Greg Jeschke will be reporting the participants’ challenges and progress in an ongoing series airing Wednesdays on Channel 27 during the 6 p.m. newscast.

In February 2011, a $10,000 prize will be awarded to the team that earns the most points during the competition. Points are awarded for percent increase in savings, decrease in debt and participation in program events. Runners up will each receive $2,500.
