SAN DIEGO – San Diego County CU announced it has hired Teresa Halleck, who has headed The Golden 1 CU, California’s largest credit union, the past eight years, as president and CEO of the $4.1 billion credit union.
Halleck, who went to The Golden 1 from State Employees CU of Maryland, will succeed Tum Vongsawad, who has served as interim CEO since February when he stepped in after Irene Oberbauer left for health issues. Vongsawad will return to the chief operating officer position after Halleck arrives on Aug. 16.
Both credit unions are among the healthiest big credit unions in California.
