Greater Texas Federal Credit Union in Austin has named Howard Baker chief executive.
Baker's appointment took effect on Tuesday. Baker was also named president of the $553 million-asset Greater Texas.
Baker previously was chief of staff at the $9.1 billion-asset Security Service Federal Credit Union in San Antonio. Prior to that, he worked for NCUA.
Greater Texas was formed in 1952. It has about 68,000 members and operates 18 branches in the Austin, Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston, San Antonio, College Station and San Marcos areas. Its College Station-area branches operate under the name Aggieland Credit Union
