Fannie Mae presented GTE FCU with an Excellence in Affordable Lending Award in the large-sized credit union category (over $500 million in assets). Prime Alliance awarded GTE FCU and Suncoast Schools Federal Credit Union with the 2005 Emerging Market Award.
GTE FCU was recognized by Fannie Mae for its affordable housing initiatives, including its involvement as a lender with the Florida Home Partnership, a nonprofit agency helping lower income families in Hillsborough County, Fla.
It was also recognized by Prime Alliance as a provider of mortgage and construction loans for home buyers as part of the redevelopment of historic West Tampa, in conjunction with InTown Homes, the West Tampa Development Corporation, the city of Tampa and Suncoast Schools FCU, as the two preferred lenders through a joint venture called CU Housing Partners.
