The credit union donated $10,000 so that the local law enforcement agency could buy two additional police dogs for its K-9 unit.

The additional patrol will allow the sheriff's office to have a dog on every shift. The dogs, both German shepherds, will be used to track criminals and sniff drugs.

Gulf Winds FCU is in the process of merging with Escambia County Employees CU to create a $300-million credit union serving more than 40,000 employees. (c) 2006 The Credit Union Journal and SourceMedia, Inc. All Rights Reserved. http://www.cujournal.com http://www.sourcemedia.com
