Rep. Barney Frank, the chairman of the House Financial Services Committee, will be on hand to open the educational program, believed to be the only one of its kind in the country, which will be located in the credit union’s Mansfield offices.

HarborOne U will offer financial education, including youth financial literacy programs, first-time homebuyers' seminars, credit counseling and classes on retirement and estate planning. HarborOne U will offer seminars and classes on personal finance, as well as life and career management services and small business assistance.

HarborOne’s Multicultural Banking Center was opened in September 2007 to provide low- and moderate- income residents with access to financial information to help them avoid predatory lenders and assist those facing foreclosure. More than 2,000 people have taken advantage of the courses at the center.
