ATLANTA - (11/10/05) -- John H. Harland Co. reportedWednesday it has partnered with Mitek Systems to introduce a newcheck fraud detection system. During pilot testing the new system,called Validify, captured up to 85% of forged and counterfeitchecks. The system uses advanced image processing, data encodingand encryption, digital printing and statistical validationsoftware to enable financial institutions and merchants to validatethe authenticity of the check's signature and physical checkdocument. Validify is the first of a suite of fraud detectionsystems Harland will be rolling out in coming months.
