HONOLULU – Hawaii Central FCU is holding is third annual Fastest Texter of Hawaii contest Sunday, with a $500 award to the winner.
In last year’s contest, a 16-year-old boy was the first of 30 contestants to perfectly text the final round phrase: “Hawaiians say, ‘Mahalo Nui Loa’ to convey their thankfulness, Okinawans say, ‘Ippee Nifee Deebiru,’” and won $1,000.
There will be five preliminary rounds with each round texting a different phrase. The texter with the least amount of errors in the fastest time of each preliminary round will advance to the final round. The winner of the final round will win the $500 grand prize.
