WARNER ROBINS, Ga. – A member of HEA CU will spend the rest of his life in prison after robbing his credit union, under the state’s “three strikes” law.

George Buffkin, 49, on Oct. 12 robbed the credit union’s branch using a BB gun and made off with more than $4,000.
Employees identified Buffkin because he was a member at the credit union. He was arrested later in the day and nearly all the stolen money was recovered.
Investigators found a robbery checklist in Buffkin's home that detailed about 20 steps for robbing a bank, ending with “count the money.”
Buffkin had four previous convictions for auto theft and a conviction for aggravated stalking.
