ST. LOUIS — Police chased a St. Louis County hospital patient after he carjacked a victim then proceeded to rob a First Community CU branch Thursday afternoon.
A patient at St. Anthony's Hospital allegedly carjacked a woman who was picking up her husband in the parking lot of the hospital shortly after 1 p.m. The vehicle matching the description of the carjacking was then used in a robbery at the credit union. A weapon was implied during the robbery but not shown.
The suspect fled when area officers began pursuing the red Cadillac along Interstate 55 toward south St. Louis City.
Police used spike strips to stop the vehicle and officers were able to take the suspect, wearing pajamas, into custody.
