The National CU Foundation said it has received a $500,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to help finance counseling programs at CUs for first-time homebuyers. The HUD money will go 14 CUs and 10 states that have pledged to provide matching funds, according to Gary Officer, NCUF executive director. "The money will go to help credit unions fund pre-purchase and post-purchase counseling to support first time homebuyers," Officer said.
