Icon Credit Union receives first Juntos Avanzamos designation in Idaho

Icon Credit Union is the first Idaho institution to earn the Juntos Avanzamos designation from Inclusiv.

The recognition is given to credit unions committed to serving Spanish-speaking consumers in the U.S. Juntos Avanzamos means “together we move forward” in Spanish.

Juntos Avanzamos CUs employ those who are not only bilingual, but also those who are culturally aware. Icon in Boise, Idaho, is the fourth credit union in the Northwest to receive this designation and joins the ranks of Lower Valley Credit Union, Seattle Credit Union and Point West Credit Union.

“At Icon Credit Union, we believe that every person deserves to receive financial services that are delivered with respect and dignity,” Connie Miller, Icon’s president and CEO, said in a statement. “The Juntos Avanzamos designation is a testament that we are truly investing in serving those who may need our services.”

Miller also said that financial inclusion is part of the $325 million-asset CU's mission.

Pablo DeFilippi, senior vice president of membership and network engagement at Inclusiv, emphasized the significance of the designation.

“The success of the Juntos Avanzamos national program is the result of a growing coalition of leading credit union organizations that recognize the opportunity that connecting with the Hispanic market represents for our future and relevance as an industry,” DeFilippi said in a statement.
