SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – Credit unions across the state are helping to combat identity theft by inviting their members to bring in personal documents this month for destruction.

As part of “Shred Month,” members can bring in up to three boxes of their sensitive personal financial documents for free and secure on-the-spot disposal.
Among the documents to be shredded are: credit card receipts and statements; pay stubs; tax records; cancelled checks; ATM receipts and old credit card solicitations.
