COLLINSVILLE, Ill. – Scott CU, a one-time defense credit union that now serves all of southwest Illinois, is seeking to establish its footprint in neighboring Missouri.

The $780-million credit union has applied to state regulators in Missouri to serve more than 1 million people in St. Louis County, which includes the Gateway City.
Scott, chartered to serve employees of Scott Air Force Base, has expanded in a hybrid fashion. It has continued to serve military personnel, as well as residents of 17 Illinois counties and several large select groups, including employees of the local Sam’s Club and the Smurfit-Stone Corp.
