BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Industrial CU said it is planting at least 1,900 trees in Whatcom County as part of Project Preservation – its effort to reduce the use of paper statements by its members.

The credit union is planting a tree for each of its 20,000 members who sign up for e-statements rather than paper statements detailing their account activity.
Volunteer crews of the Nooksack Salmon Enhancement Association will plant trees along salmon-bearing streams at sites throughout the county on behalf of the credit union. ICU employees are among the volunteers planting the trees.
