ORLANDO, Fla. – Insight CU on Tuesday said it completed its merger with Florida Episcopal FCU, an insolvent $3-million credit union, giving it a new base for membership growth in Central Florida.

The merger gives $440-million Insight Florida Episcopal’s field of membership, which includes Episcopal Dioceses of Central Florida , Southeast Florida, Southwest Florida and Florida church members; the employees of parishes, missions, schools, conference centers, retirement homes of these dioceses; and their family members.
Florida Episcopal, also based in Orlando, had $4.4 million in assets as recently as 2009 but ended the third quarter of 2011 with just $3 million in assets and net worth less than 1%.
