TAMPA, Fla. – Brokerage INVEST Financial Corp. announced yesterday the hiring of Steve Dowden, president of CUNA Mutual Group’s CUNA Brokerage Services, as its new president and CEO.

Dowden, 48, headed IBM Mid America FCU’s investment and insurance program and launched a consulting and trading company that specialized in agricultural industry investors, which he operated for five years, before going to CUNA Mutual.
Dowden will succeed Lynn Niedermeier, who retired in July after serving as the firm’s president and CEO since 2001.
