IT Vendors Go Head-To-Head On Why Their Solutions Are The Best

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - What are the top three reasons a credit union should consider your solution? That question was put to six core processor vendors that gathered for a panel discussion at the recent CUNA Technology Council Summit here. Excerpted here are some of their responses:

Mickey Goldwasser, VP-product marketing and communications, Open Solutions Inc.

It's our dedication to credit unions. We have a flexible solution that will grow with you and meet your needs.

Joe Barry, president, Fiserv Credit Union Division.

I'll repeat what Mickey said. Our scale is significant, so we can provide the broadest set of products that are best-of-breed. We honor our commitment to our customers even as our business lines are merging.

Peter McKellar, VP-product development, CU Core Systems, Harland Financial Solutions.

It's the dedication of our employees and the longevity of the relationship between our employees and our credit union clients. Our technologies let you adapt, grow, and manage all of those conflicts and growth opportunities.

Mark Forbis, CTO and VP, Jack Henry and Associates.

The flexibility of our system allows for connectivity within our own products or to third-party products through SymConnect. We provide top-notch service and make sure we perform good implementations and support.

Todd Proulx, VP-business development, EPL Inc.

Because we're owned by credit unions, we operate on the CU model-cooperatively. We've already gone through a rewrite of all our technology, so it's all open. We look at ourselves as an extension of the credit unions and help them deliver their infrastructure.

Scott Page, EVP-sales and marketing, CU*Answers.

We're a CUSO, so our credit unions get ownership and all the things that go along with it, such as voting and ROI. You have a direct say and work hand-in-hand to develop products. When was the last time you had that opportunity? We incorporate the richness of all of our products into every software release-you don't have to buy separate modules.(c) 2008 The Credit Union Journal and SourceMedia, Inc.
