WASHINGTON – Credit unions have less than a week to be in compliance with NCUA’s new rules for advertising share insurance coverage.
The new rules go into effect Jan. 1 and require that NCUA’s “official advertising statement” must be included in radio and TV ads that are 15 seconds or longer in length, as well as in reports and statements of condition that are required to be published by law.
Other requirements include requiring disclosures to be clearly legible and that any font size be no smaller than the smallest font size used in other portions of any advertising.
