Kane Steps In As Illinois League CEO Departs Abruptly

NAPERVILLE, Ill. — Illinois CU League president and CEO Sean Hession has stepped down from his position little more than one year after taking the helm.

Hession, whose departure is effective immediately, according to a statement from the league, is set to be succeeded by Tom Kane, EVP/COO of ICUL's League Services Corp. (LSC). Kane will serve in an interim capacity during the search for a new president and CEO. No reason for Hession's departure was given.

Kane has served LSC for the last 12 years, and prior to that he worked in various leaderhip positiosn with AON Corporation, Quaker Oats and the CIA.

Peter Paulson, chairman of ICUL's board said the league's directors plan to meet to formulate a plan to find a permanent replacement for Hession.

"We have every confidence in Tom's abilities to continue delivering the crucial products and services that help our member credit unions thrive in Illinois and across the country," Paulson said in a statement.
