KEY WEST, Fla.–Although other areas of Florida further north are now dealing with the heavy rains and wind of Tropical Storm Fay, Keys Federal Credit Union is reporting it used an e-mail based alert system to stay in touch with its members and employees when the storm was lashing the Florida Keys.

The alert e-mails, using a Crisis Management Notification System provided by DigitalMailer, are part of Keys Federal’s emergency notification process. The alerts were used to inform members of branch closures and to provide other information. The solution also has a text-messaging component.
