LOS ANGELES - (02/11/05) -- Los Angeles Police FCU said it willprovide free identity theft services to its members throughIdentity Theft 911, an online service. The service will providemembers a personal advocate to help resolve identity thefts;systematic notification of agencies, businesses and institutions ofa theft; a file creation for insurance and police records; creditreports from the three credit bureaus; one year of creditmonitoring and fraud monitoring; a year of follow-up alerts, phonecalls and status checks to avoid recurrence. In addition, aconsumer education component will provide all members with ongoingemailed fraud alerts, a monthly newsletter, and a dedicated websitewith articles and other information of identity theft.
