LAFCU in Lansing, Mich., has named Patrick Spyke its new chief executive officer.
Spyke, who has been LAFCU's executive vice president since 2013, will succeed Robin Frucci as CEO when he retires March 31.
Spyke started at LAFCU as senior vice president of marketing in 2005, according to his LinkedIn profile. Previously, he was CEO at Parkside Credit Union in Livonia, Mich., from 2000 to 2002.
While at LAFCU, Spyke overhauled the credit union's technology to improve online banking for customers and he implemented interactive teller machines, according to a news release.
Spyke is a board member for several credit union service organizations in Michigan, including Member First Mortgage in Grand Rapids, Member Driven Technologies in Farmington Hills and Commercial Alliance in Troy. He also is a former volunteer for Financial Health Credit Union, now Option 1 Credit Union in Grand Rapids.
"Pat is the epitome of a great leader," Harold Foster, chairman of LAFCU's board of directors, said in a statement. "His positive perspective and natural ability to build consensus and camaraderie among employees and local communities are assets for LAFCU and for mid-Michigan."
Frucci was CEO at LAFCU for 11 years, during which the credit union's assets increased 34%, equity grew 54% and membership increased 11% to nearly 60,000.
