SOUTH LANSING, Mich. – Lake Trust CU, a newly created credit union giant, on Friday broke ground on a new branch on the former Brownfield site of Lansing’s long-abandoned Regent Inn.
The new 5,000 square-foot branch, located a mile from an existing center, will be “green” certified and be built on a former pollution site. The branch is projected to open in late 2010 and is expected to provide an economic boost to the South Lansing area, a key commercial corridor in Michigan’s Capital City.
The $1.5 billion credit union was formed earlier this month by the merger of Detroit Edison CU and NuUnion CU.
