DECATUR, Ill. — The board of Land of Lincoln CU announced Tuesday it has named Douglas B. Harris as its next CEO following the retirement Mac Dunaway.
Prior to joining the $223 million Land of Lincoln, Harris served as president of $1.3 billion Centra CU in Columbus, Ind.
"We were searching for a person with the right balance of experience, vision, and passion to lead our team as we continue to grow," said board Chairman Mark Kennedy in a statement. "Doug brings that balance and we are very excited about the future of our credit union under his leadership."
Harris began his banking career in 1985 at First Merchants Bank of Muncie, Ind., where he held the positions of commercial credit manager, assistant comptroller and vice president of finance.
In 2001 he joined Centra as a senior vice president and chief financial officer.
"I want to thank the board of directors of Land of Lincoln Credit Union for placing their trust and confidence in me and selecting me as their next CEO," Harris said of his appointment. "I'm excited about joining an organization that compliments my philosophy of strong corporate teamwork, growth focus, and returning value to the members and communities served."
Harris graduated from Ball State University of Muncie, Ind., with a B.S. in Business and earned his masters of business administration from the university. He also graduated from the Graduate School of Banking in Madison, Wis.
