Loan Officer Charged In $800,000 Member ID Theft

JANSEVILLE, Wis. – A former loan officer at Parker Community CU last week pleaded not guilty to charges she stole as much as $800,000 from the credit union by using the identities of 10 members., including family and friends.

Laura Powers, 50, is accused of using her position as a loan officer at the credit union to take out between $700,000 and $800,000 in loans.

She was charged with theft from a business setting and 10 counts of identity theft.
