Loan Officer Charged With Theft By Boosting Loan Amount

LA SALLE, Ill. – A former employee of Nickleoid Employees CU last week was charged with adding numbers to her home equity loan to obtain an additional credit of $163,585.

Angela Pena, 49, was charged with financial institution fraud.

Pena was employed at the credit union and took out a home equity loan for $86,900 in August 2008. In September 2009 she increased the loan, without authorization, to $250,000, a difference of $163,585, according to court records.
