Long-Serving St. Louis CU Director Passes

ST. LOUIS – Members of St. Louis Community CU were mourning last week’s death of Janice Mosby, who served on the credit union’s board for 40 years.

Mosby, 84, served in various capacities, including as chairwoman, and was the credit union's oldest and longest-serving board member. She joined when it still was known as St. Louis Teachers CU with $10 million in assets. Today, it has grown to $195 million in assets and 40,000 members.

At the credit union, colleagues remembered her for asking how any new policy might affect members. She had just returned from a board meeting last week when she fell outside her home.

Mosby spent more than three decades as a teacher and principal in the St. Louis Public Schools.
