The TV spots, part of the Maine CU League’s Statewide Awareness Campaign, were part of the action from the start of the Games and reached 27,000 households in the Bangor market during the games’ Opening Ceremonies on Aug. 8.  They continued through Aug. 9-10, and Aug. 16-17, reaching 157,000 more viewing households.

The Olympic ads are part of the more than 16,000 television commercials that will air in 2008. The campaign will reach every county in Maine, in all three Maine television markets: Bangor, Portland and Presque Isle.

The remaining television spots are scheduled to air from Sept. 1 to Oct. 12, and Nov. 17 to Dec. 28.

New to this year’s campaign is a message that scrolls across each television advertisement, encouraging consumers to text message “ATM at 22700” to receive tips on saving money through using a Maine Credit Union.
