HOUSTON – The former manager of Saint John Vianney FCU pleaded guilty yesterday to embezzling $60,000 from dormant accounts.
Donna Gonzalez, 40, confessed to stealing the funds by issuing official checks made payable to Bank of America, without authorization, which were negotiated against funds in the dormant customer accounts before depositing the fraudulent checks into her personal account.
The tiny church-based credit union, which had less than $1 million in assets, was merged out in 2008.
