WASHINGTON-The Senate easily confirmed Deborah Matz as chairman of the NCUA Board, marking the first time an NCUA Board member will return to the regulatory panel.
Matz, who served on the three-member board from 2002 to 2005, will give the Democrats two of the three seats on the board for the first time in almost a decade. Her appointment will push aside Michael Fryzel, the current chairman and lone Republican on the panel, who has been heading the agency for the past year.
