BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Max CU donated 10 refurbished computers to Redland Elementary School in Wetumpka.
The gift was in response to a request from second-grade teacher Janice Thornell, who had written the credit union asking that her school be considered in the event that the credit union could help meet technology needs.
Most of the new computers were placed in the school’s computer lab, where they can be used by students in all grades, but the primary users will be second- and fifth-graders, who are required to complete course work in basic computer skills.
